Natalie is an international banking and finance lawyer with a particular specialisation in conventional and Islamic structured finance and funds, debt capital markets, derivatives and Middle Eastern financial services regulation.
Natalie is the founder of Oryx Law, a niche law firm providing conventional and Sharia-compliant capital raising and investment solutions to global institutional clients and entrepreneurs. Prior to founding Oryx Law, Natalie was a partner at leading international law firms (Clifford Chance, Simmons & Simmons and K&L Gates). She has worked in London, Paris, Dubai and Doha and continues to divide her time between the UK and the Middle East.
She has been nominated by IFLR as the leading female practitioner in the UAE and recognised in Chambers Global by clients as “a very sharp lawyer with excellent knowledge”.
Career highlights have included acting for a syndicate member on the flagship USD 2.5bn Dubai Parks & Resorts project financing, the largest leisure development in the UAE, the security agent on the AED20bn Dubai Government Sukuk Programme and AED8bn Dubai Group restructuring, a syndicate member on the USD 445m public acquisition of Damas, the bank consortium on the refinancing of Eurotunnel and the bank consortium on the financing of the Stade de France. In addition to acting for corporate lenders and borrowers on complex cross-border financings, Natalie actively supports global entrepreneurs and start-up companies to overcome regulatory and Sharia law hurdles in order to achieve their goals.
