Jan Hawgood Boothlaw

Jan is an experienced in-house legal counsel in the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors.

Jan has been in-house counsel at leading international energy and resources companies for many years, having trained at a major London law firm. She has worked in London, Australia, Vietnam and West Africa on major energy/resources projects from exploration through to development, sales and production, as well as M&A.

Jan is a versatile lawyer who likes a challenge and has significant international experience in complex projects in difficult regulatory and legal jurisdictions. This includes a broad range of experience in major project agreements, construction, procurement and services contracting, joint ventures, government agreements, operational matters and M&A. Career highlights have included leading work on Chevron’s greenfield Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects in Australia, a cross border oil development project between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, a gas to power project in Vietnam and the sale of Rio Tinto’s uranium mine in Namibia.

In her spare time Jan enjoys many outdoor pursuits, is an enthusiastic (rather than talented) cook and has also been known to enjoy relaxing on the sofa.
