Ava Zadkhorvash Boothlaw

Ava is a junior commercial and corporate lawyer with a background in international business consulting. Prior to practising as a freelance lawyer, Ava was headhunted to help develop a Tier 1 Emerging Markets practice at a leading international law firm.

Ava advises clients seeking to enter, navigate and successfully invest in emerging markets and politically sensitive jurisdictions with a focus on energy, infrastructure and construction projects. Ava’s clients include major energy companies, European banks, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, UHNWI’S and start-ups.

Ava’s experience includes advising on corporate acquisition structures, reviewing and negotiating core project agreements (SPAs, JVAs, Off-take Agreements, Sale of Goods, Agency Agreements) and corporate ancillary documents (Put and Call Option, Service Agreements, NDAs). Ava also advises on all stages of market entry and project lifecycle including local content and regulations, business intelligence, sanctions and compliance, and local partner recommendations.

Ava particularly enjoys combining her legal knowledge with her business background and global network to provide innovative commercial solutions and value-add for her clients, such as horizon scanning, finding and facilitating investment opportunities and providing strategic advice on transactions and projects.

Ava enjoys working with various industry organizations to help promote and develop opportunities for women in the energy industry. Ava sits on the advisory boards of organisations providing advice on market entry strategy as well as legal and political developments across the Middle East and West African region. As a result of her personal life experiences, she is dedicated to improving social mobility and access to the law in both her community and the organisations that she works with.
